A district nursing team is located in the community, led by a Team Leader. They are responsible for all the community nursing care in the practice.
The doctors will refer patients to the district nurse as appropriate. Patients may also be referred to the district nurse by other means eg via hospital discharge, self-referral, local clinics, etc.
Community Midwife
We have one midwife attached to our surgery - Mrs Rhian Kavanagh. She assists the doctors in jointly running the antenatal clinic and provides postnatal care of up to 10 days after the baby is born.
